Harnessing the AI Opportunity for Africa
The world is witnessing a technological revolution brought on by Artificial Intelligence (AI), raising the question of how AI can help to tackle some of Africa’s most pressing economic and societal challenges.
This high-level event, held in collaboration with Google and the African Leadership University, will convene leaders from government, civil society, academia, AI innovators and the private sector to showcase how Africa is harnessing AI, explore the AI opportunity for the continent, and advance robust and balanced AI policy/governance frameworks to realize that future.
Amidst a global AI race and a clear and present opportunity for new era of African innovation and growth, this meeting aims to:
- Showcase transformative potential of AI to address Africa’s unique needs while addressing the potential risks.
- Foster Collaboration between diverse stakeholders worldwide to accelerate AI innovation and adoption in Africa.
- Develop Strategies and identify concrete policy steps and investments to shape an innovative, responsible and inclusive AI adoption, and develop a thriving AI ecosystem in Africa.
